Unashamedly Ellie.
It’s been a rough ride, but it’s also been a beautiful one. That’s something I’ve only started to understand over the last ten years: that the challenges, the struggles, and the setbacks I’ve faced have shaped me in ways I could never have imagined. I’ve literally and metaphorically drowned and thrived. And in that journey, I’ve discovered the true meaning of faith, patience, and trust in the process.
I’ve learned the essence of an old Arabic saying: Tawakkol that doesn’t just have to be applied in a religious concept It’s not about religion—it’s about life. It’s about trusting the journey and having faith that, even when things don’t work out as planned, they’re leading you to where you’re meant to be. Only by embracing that trust did I begin to understand why certain doors didn’t open, and why others did.
Along the way, I realized that when I was struggling, I needed so many different types of support. I needed help with mental health, guidance around neurodiversity, someone to help me navigate heartbreak, and tools and strategies to manage life itself. Those supports weren’t always available, and I often felt alone in figuring things out. That’s when the idea of Room2Bloom started to take shape—a space where people can be heard, supported, and guided, exactly as I once wished for myself.
Quietly, as my children began to leave the nest, I found myself asking: What can I do for me? What can I do for others? because that’s where I find joy! What is my purpose? I’ve never truly known purpose because I’ve only ever known surviving and learning and raising my children by clambering blindly to the next level,
And yet, in that reflection, Room2Bloom began to resonate. I imagined creating something meaningful, but doubt crept in. That age-old belief whispered, “You’re too shit to do this.”
Still, I decided to humour myself and put it all together week by week, day by day. Slowly, Room2Bloom began to grow. I’ve met incredible people along the way, gained insight into others and myself, and discovered a purpose that feels real, passionate, and alive. I’ve learned skills, completed courses, and built qualifications—but more importantly, I’ve learned about me, and I can now apply that learning in Room2Bloom.
Room2Bloom isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating a safe, compassionate environment where growth is nurtured, where struggles are honoured, and where thriving is possible for me, for you, and for all of us together. Whether it’s through one-on-one listening sessions, wellness coaching, or simply offering a space to reflect, Room2Bloom is about connection, understanding, and shared growth.
I’ve always wanted to write a book, but I haven’t been ready until now. It’s coming. It’s brewing. And for now, Room2Bloom is my way of giving back, of helping others navigate their journeys, and of celebrating the beauty in even the roughest paths. they’ve been truly rough but one day I’ll tell you about that but for now I’ll share snippets musings and thoughts. yours Ellie.
